Aruba Tang Soo Do, under the direction of Mr. Richard Vrolijk, E Dan hosted Grandmaster John St. James and Sr. Master James Allison for the 3rd Annual APTSDF Black Belt Seminar, Dan Shim Sa (Black Belt Test), All Island Clinic, and the first ever Elite Warrior Training seminar with the Royal Dutch Marines from December 1 thru the 3rd on the beautiful island of Aruba in the Caribbean.

The APTSDF held its Regional Championship Tournament on October 15, 2011 in Dover, NH, hosted by Great Bay Tang Soo Do. There were 80 competitors representing four schools. Besides Great Bay, students came from Southbury Academy of Karate and Rivera's Tang Soo Do in Connecticut, and Cambridge Tang Soo Do in Boston. The Black Belt portion of the tournament took place Saturday morning. The female championship trophy went to Noelle Drewicz, and the male trophy went to Oleg Khodko, both from Cambridge Tang Soo Do.

The 2011 APTSDF New England Black Belt Camp took place May 13-15 at Camp Winadu in Pittsfield, MA.
Eight students took part in the Dan Shim Sa: 2 for Sam Dan, 2 for E Dan, 4 for Cho Dan. The Best Test award for youth went to Haley McClure of Southbury Academy of Karate. The Adult Best Test award was given to Noelle Drewicz of Cambridge Tang Soo Do.
During the Dan Shim Sa on Friday night, the rest of the group rotated through three exercises. Mr. Mark Farquarson, 4th Degree Black Belt worked with us on forms and flow sets, Ms. Kayla Turgeon led a drill on Tang Soo Do combinations, and Mr. O'Sullivan offered Ho Sin Sul techniques.

On the weekend of April 15-17, the southeastern region of the Atlantic-Pacific Tang Soo Do Federation had its spring cycle Dan Shim Sa (Black Belt test) and review, as well as its annual championships in Cleveland, Georgia. Over 50 Black Belts and Cho Dan Bo (Black Belt Candidates) tested or reviewed at the White County YMCA on Friday night April 15th. Two hundred and fifty (250+) plus competitors gathered the next day, April 16th at the same facility for the regional championships.

The Atlantic Pacific Tang Soo Do Federation, headquartered in Suwanee, Georgia recently hosted their annual Ko Dan Ja or Master’s Clinic. Masters and Master’s candidates from across the U.S. traveled to the annual Ko Dan Ja and spent four (4) days focusing on the history, tradition, culture, philosophy, and physical skills related to the ancient art of Tang Soo Do. The clinic took place from Thursday, March 24th to Sunday, March 27th at Federation headquarters in Suwanee.

The Atlantic Pacific Tang Soo Do Federation came together to kick-off its first ever TAC Tour of the Southeastern and Northeastern United States recently. Kwan Jang Nim John St. James, founder of the Atlantic Pacific Tang Soo Do Federation and Master James Allison, TAC Ho Sin Sul Coordinator joined forces for the three (3) week tour. Master Allison in addition to being a 4th Dan Master instructor with the APTSDF is also the founder and president of the International Hapkido Sun Moo Kwan Association and an 8th Dan in Hapkido. The Atlantic Pacific Tang Soo Do Federation and the International Hapkido Sun Moo Kwan Association are associated through the Asia Atlantic Alliance and work closely together.

The Atlantic-Pacific Tang Soo Do Federation recently conducted a two day advanced training symposium on the island of Aruba. Mr. Richard Vrolijk, E Dan – owner and Kyo Sa of Aruba Tang Soo Do hosted Kwan Jang Nim John St. James, the President and Founding Master of the Atlantic-Pacific Tang Soo Do Federation.

The Southeastern region of the Atlantic-Pacific Tang Soo Do Federation had its annual black belt camp on the weekend of October 22-24, 2010. It was held at Camp ASCCA in Jackson’s Gap, AL, for the tenth time. Camp started on Friday evening with the fall black belt test. There were approximately fifty participants, almost all of whom exceeded their instructors’ expectations to make for a very successful exam. Best test went to Benjamin Leverett of Two Dragons Martial Arts for the children and Jackie Snezek of Karate World of North Georgia for the adults.

On July 30, 31, and August 1st 2010, the Atlantic-Pacific Tang Soo Do Federation hosted its International Championships. The event took place at the Gwinnett County Fairgrounds in Lawrenceville, Georgia. Internationals are only held every two years, so this was a very special occasion. Masters, instructors, and students came from all over the United States, and from countries such as Canada, Mexico, Aruba, Australia, and Holland to participate.

The 2010 Atlantic Pacific Tang Soo Do Federation New England Black Belt Camp and Regional Dan Shim Sa took place over the May 21st-23rd weekend. This was the 4th annual event of its kind in the New England region. The setting was YMCA Camp Woodstock in the Northeastern hills of Connecticut, where the picturesque background set the stage for a wonderful and productive time. Some 20 test candidates brought their skills and talents to the test center on Friday evening and performed admirably for the test panel.
