Peak Performance Email from my friend Steve LaVallee

Greetings Champions,

As we end Round #1 (January) for Year 2010, I certainly hope your seeing
very positive and powerful things happening so far.

In and out of the dojo, on and off the mats.

You will see that we are continuing our focus on Goal Setting for Greatness. It's always
our intention to help you and your family achieve the best of success in everything you
do. It is our sincere wish that your Martial Arts training and involvement with our schools
helps to propel you forward in the achievement of your most important goals in life.

Did you know that by now, the vast majority of people have completely abandoned their
New Years resolutions. Why is that? One of the reasons is most people never write them
down and may not have properly set them as goals for the New Year.

Did you know a goal properly set more than doubles your chances of success?

It's our goal to help you become a Goal Getter. Which is why we focus the start of each
New Year with our series on Goal Setting for Greatness.

We hope you are seeing great benefit from these valuable lessons and tips.

We wish you the Best of Success in all of your Goals!

S.M.A.R.T.>Goal Setting for Greatness!

S.M.A.R.T. is a well known and widely used acronym for
setting and achieving goals in your life…

Specific  Measurable  Attainable  Realistic  Time-Dated

Most people avoid setting goals simply because they have never learned how…
others have a fear of failure…and some people just procrastinate and never take
much action toward a better future.

In the martial arts, we learn very early about the value of goal setting.

A simple starting point is to use the S.M.A.R.T. method of determining your objectives.

The first step is to set a specific goal that is present, positive and personal:

“I'm a highly skilled, flexible, lean and fit Black Belt Champion.
Everyday in everyway…I get better and better. I lead by example
 with the energy for excellence!”

For some, this would be a “Truth in Advance” goal or statement.

For others, it is exactly what they are and the way they live their lives.

Very few goals are unrealistic, however, some people have unrealistic timelines.

You aren’t likely to earn a college degree in six months and you won’t become a
Black Belt Champion in that time either.

This is why you work to set S.M.A.R.T. goals for yourself and allow some flexibility
in your target dates. Done properly, goal setting leads to goal getting and that is
exciting and positive for everyone.

"People with Goals succeed because they know where they are going!"

BEST YOU}>BEST YEAR!

Everyone agrees that we need to be our best to make this our best year.

But how do you improve? How do you make yourself better?

One way is to think about doing something differently...

One example may be to commit to getting up 1/2 hour earlier and commit that time
to reading inspirational books or educational materials. Maybe you prefer to start your
day with a refreshing walk or jog to increase your cardio endurance and reduce your
body fat.

Another example may be to improve your flexibility by 10% or more. How? By investing
an extra 10-15 minutes per day stretching your body from head to toe. By taking a few
minutes before and after each class to take it all to the next level.

Want to know a great way to make this your best year ever?

Commit to daily reading, re-writing and reviewing of your Goals for 2010.

The more you see them, the better you define them and the greater clarity you have,
the more likely you are to achieve them. Many times goals never happen because they
are abandoned by their owners.

Don't abandon your Goals...Achieve them by keeping them InYaFace!

Final success tip and reminder for this week...

Always Team Up and Never Give Up on Achieving Greatness in Life!
