CHAMPIONSHIP HOTEL INFO

Please be sure to make your hotel reservations as soon as possible. The cut-off date to get the block room rate (discounted for the APTSDF) is June 26th. Please note that we selected the Homewood Suites as their rooms are oversized and all contain a small kitchen area as well as a sofa sleeper to allow you to maximize your stay. The $89.00 dollar special rate also includes breakfast every day of the week and a warm dinner including finger foods from Monday through Thursday nights. If for any reason you would prefer to stay elsewhere, we recommend either the Hilton Garden Inn or the Hampton Inn. Both hotels are within walking distance of our Championship hotel. Either way, rooms fill fast so don’t delay. Remember, Atlanta is a big convention city, and July is noted for weddings so act now! Once the block of rooms is gone, it might be impossible to get a room at a reasonable rate in the area.

EARLY REGISTRATION FOR COMPETITORS

Please keep in mind the early bird registration deadline for competition and for our Championship clinics, banquet, T-shirts, and Championship Party is May 31st. Your postmarked entry must be into Federation headquarters by May 31st for you to qualify for the best rates. Please note that you will be saving over $30 dollars if you act fast and get your registrations in. But that’s not all…

special Note: In order to help Federation workers to avoid a last minute rush and timely response to your application, we are asking all members who are going to participate to get your entries in starting now. Remember, it takes time to process registrations and we want to give you a gift as our way of saying thank you for registering now. Every person who registers by May 31st will receive an official 2012 International Championship patch as a keepsake in addition to saving over $30 dollars.

Breaking and Creativity Rules

To find out more information on our breaking rules for both wood and concrete, please keep your eyes posted for the official International Championship Breaking Rules which will be posted on this site shortly. Please note that both Dan and Gup members may break wood. Only adult Black Belt (18 and over) may break concrete on Friday night, July 13th at the Gwinnet County Fairgrounds.

Special Note: All studios who are entering the creativity category need to have their request to demonstrate into Headquarters by June 30th. We encourage all studios to participate.  

ATTENTION ALL STUDENTS: Anyone wishing to give a special presentation of a particular skill at the Championships, for example, exceptional demonstration of forms, breaking, self-defense, sparring, weapons, etc., contact your instructor with details. Your instructor can then contact the Championship Committee at headquarters with details to see if it can be worked into the demonstration part of the International Championships. This is your big chance for the spotlight!

INTERNATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP BANQUET - Saturday, July 14th  at Stars and Strikes 

Our 2012 International Banquet is open to all membership and their families. The more the merrier. Just remember, banquet rooms are only so large and so you need to act fast if you plan on attending this one of a kind event. We are currently negotiating between two venues as we need a larger room for our banquet area this year. We should have a final decision on which venue gets to host our awards banquet in the next week. Stars and Strikes is a premier destination not far from our Championship Hotel and Headquarters. It is the perfect place for parties, celebrations, and banquets. With over 50,000 square feet of activities, private party rooms, and a restaurant featuring modern American cuisine. Dave and Busters is even larger and is very close to our Championship Hotel. In fact, it is located in Discover Mills Mall right across the street from the Homewood Suites and Inn.

After the banquet, attendees can enjoy arcade games, cosmic bowling, and a whole lot more. You will also want to be there for our award ceremony and special presentation covering the 2013 APTSDF Delegation trip to Australia and the South Pacific. Don’t miss it!

INTERNATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP PARTY – Sunday, July 15^th from 10 am to 4 pm

Mark your calendar and be sure to register for the best Championship Party yet! We are still finalizing our Championship Party site but you can rest assure that we will again be offering great fellowship, fun, as well as a catered lunch and refreshments for all. We will be sure to have a pavilion, a pool, plenty of music, and a number of games available for kids and adults alike. We are expecting to have a tug of war between the Masters and everyone else as well as a water balloon challenge between the Dans and the Gups. We also plan to have a moon walk again for the kids and loads of organized games to keep everyone having a great time.
